HomeMentor respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how HomeMentor (“HomeMentor”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information through homementor.com.au, our waitlist and related communications.
This policy currently reflects our pre-launch waitlist. Before the HomeMentor application begins collecting broader property, financial or document information, we will update this policy to explain those practices.
1. Personal information we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect your first name, email address and, if you choose to provide it, how you heard about us.
When you visit our website, our website and service providers may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages visited and approximate location derived from your IP address. This information may be collected using cookies or similar technologies.
At the waitlist stage, we do not ask you to upload property contracts, financial records, identity documents or other sensitive information. Please do not send this information through the waitlist or general email enquiries.
2. How we collect personal information
We collect information directly from you when you complete a form, contact us or communicate with us. We may also receive technical information automatically from the services used to operate our website and email communications.
3. Why we collect and use personal information
We use personal information to:
manage the HomeMentor waitlist;
send launch updates, early-access invitations and occasional product news you have requested;
understand how people discover HomeMentor and improve our launch planning;
respond to questions and requests;
operate, protect and improve our website and services; and
comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
If you do not provide your name and email address, we cannot add you to the waitlist or send early-access communications. Providing a referral source is optional.
4. Marketing communications
When you join the waitlist, you consent to receiving HomeMentor launch updates, early-access invitations and occasional product news by email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting hello@homementor.com.au. We will action unsubscribe requests as required by law.
5. When we disclose personal information
We may disclose personal information to service providers that help us operate the website, manage subscribers, deliver email, provide analytics, maintain security or obtain professional advice. These providers may include Framer, which hosts and operates the website, and MailerLite, which stores waitlist subscriber details and sends our emails.
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business restructure or transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
6. Overseas processing
Some service providers process or store information outside Australia. In particular, MailerLite services for Australian customers are provided through a United States entity and its current data infrastructure includes storage in the Netherlands. Other providers and subprocessors may operate in additional countries. Privacy protections and legal requirements in those countries may differ from those in Australia.
We take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances when selecting and using service providers that handle personal information.
7. Storage, security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including managing the waitlist, maintaining consent and suppression records, meeting legal obligations and resolving disputes. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
8. Access, correction and deletion
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or request its deletion, by emailing hello@homementor.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond within a reasonable period and explain any lawful reason if we cannot fulfil a request.
9. Cookies and third-party links
Our website providers may use essential cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the site. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will update our notices and provide any choices required by law.
Our website may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for those practices.
